Top 10 Reasons to Shop Mr. Clones
What To Do When You Get Your Clones
Your Step-by-Step Guide to Happy, Healthy Transplants
Welcome to the Mr. Clones family! You’ve just received your new cannabis clones—now let’s make sure they settle into their new home safely and thrive. Follow this simple guide to give your plants the best possible start.
1. Unpack Carefully
As soon as your clones arrive:
- Gently open the packaging and inspect each plant.
- Check for moisture in the rooting medium (like Rockwool, peat plug, or soil). It should be damp but not soaked.
- If the roots look dry, mist them lightly with clean, pH-balanced water (5.8–6.2).
2. Let Them Breathe
Before transplanting, allow your clones to rest for 6–12 hours in a mild, low-light environment (under fluorescent or LED light about 2–3 feet away).
This helps them recover from shipping stress and prevents shock during transplant.
3. Prepare Your Growing Medium
Choose your preferred setup:
- 🌿 Soil – Use a light, airy mix like Pro-Mix HP or coco-based soil.
- 💧 Coco Coir – Great for better aeration and faster root growth.
- 🔌 Hydroponic System – Ensure your medium (Rockwool, hydroton, etc.) is pre-soaked with pH-balanced water.
Ensure everything is clean and ready before planting.
4. Transplanting Your Clones
Here’s how to do it right:
- Dig a small hole deep enough to cover the root zone.
- Place your clone gently into the hole — roots down, stem up!
- Lightly press the medium around the base to stabilize the plant.
- Water with pH-balanced water or a light nutrient solution (1/4 strength) to help the roots settle.
💧 Don’t overwater! Your clones should be moist but not sitting in water.
5. Lighting & Environment
After transplanting:
- Keep your lights 18–24 inches above the canopy.
- Maintain a temperature of 22–26°C (72–79°F) and humidity around 60–70%.
- Gradually increase light intensity over a few days to avoid stress.
If your clones look droopy, reduce the light intensity or move them slightly away from the light source for a day.
6. Feeding and Care
- Begin feeding with mild nutrients once you see new growth (usually after 3–5 days).
- Maintain pH between 5.8–6.3.
- Check for pests regularly and keep airflow steady to prevent mold or mildew.
🌱 Remember: Less is more in the first week. Focus on healthy roots before pushing heavy nutrients.
7. Watch for Early Growth Signs
Within the first 7–10 days, you should see new leaves and stronger stems. That’s a sign your clones are taking root and adjusting well.
If growth seems slow, double-check your environment—especially temperature, light distance, and water levels.
8. Transplant Success = Healthy Harvest
By giving your clones a smooth start, you’re setting the foundation for a successful grow.
Strong roots, proper care, and a little patience go a long way.
